We have excellent pricing today on the 2021 Bougros from Fevre, and this is one of the rare cases where it is nearly as good as the Cote Bouguerots. Bougros comes 6 hectares of 50-year-old vines planted on Kimmeridgian limestone. The vintage was challenged by frost, reducing yields, but the resulting wines retained crisp acidity, precise minerality, and a bit more concentration. Fèvre's reputation for terroir-driven Chablis emphasizes stainless steel and uses oak vinification to preserve purity while building complexity and texture. Despite the challenging year, the wine maintains Chablis' hallmark tension, with saline notes and firm structure indicative of the site, and is one of the top examples of this vineyard from Fevre. This can be enjoyed now but has plenty of life left, and at pricing lower than the current release, it's one to grab.
John Gilman 95+ pts! "The 2021 Côte de Bouguerots is another absolutely beautiful example of this vintage. The refined bouquet wafts from the glass in a complex mix of fresh lime, green apple, pear, a gorgeous base of limestone, beeswax and a floral topnote redolent of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with wonderful mineral undertow, lovely balance and grip, a fine spine of acidity and a long, focused and nascently complex finish. There is a veneer of reserve here that I find extremely promising."
