One of the Chablis favorites, these are the last bottles we have of one of the top premier crus from Caves Duplesis, which is also one of the best buys in the category in '22. Duplessis has been working in Chablis for five generations and is now under Lilian Duplessis' authority, who took over for his father, Gerard, in 1999. This small 8 Hectare Domaine is entirely organic and biodynamic, and significant effort is put into making the best wines possible to show off the typicity and uniqueness of each site while highlighting the best aspects of the vintage. The 2022s here are sensational, and these are some of the best examples, which is definitely the case with the Monmains, which is the best example ever from Duplessis. This comes from two 1-hectare plots planted on clay-limestone soil and is a very structured wine that can age for decades. This will only improve with time, but it's fantastic even at this young stage. As Neil Martin states in his review, this is one of his top picks of the vintage, showing the beautiful dynamic of classicism and the generosity of the vintage. Vinous (Neil Martin) 93-95 points! "The 2022 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet with orange pith, tangerine, lime cordial and yellow flowers—very attractive and pretty. The palate is very well-balanced, the most precise of Duplessis's Premier Crus, with a lovely lick of salinity on the persistent finish. This is one of my picks of the vintage, a melange of the classicism of Chablis with the generosity of the growing season."
