This is the best deal for domestic Chardonnay with age we have encountered in several years. We have tasted it multiple times now, and it's a rocking bottle of Cool Climate Chardonnay. We also recently poured this at an event, and it was well received. Copain, established in 1999 by Wells Guthrie, focuses on minimal intervention winemaking, and this Chardonnay comes from Anderson Valley. The Les Voisins vineyard is about 15 acres in size and benefits from cool climate influences that are ideal for Chardonnay production. The 2018 was notable for its cool spring and warm summer, contributing to excellent fruit ripeness and vibrant acidity. Still fresh with lovely notes of white flowers, stone fruits, and liquid minerals. The pallet has excellent depth and intensity, tons of dry extract, a touch of honey, and lovely salinity. This is the ultimate daily drinker, party wine, or cellar saver for the domestic and old-world Chardonnay lover, and it was bottled with diam corks for extra aging confidence.
