Paul Pernot's Bourgogne Blanc is one of the top values in the category and is typically one of the best buys annually. From parcels just below Puligny, it's a dead-ringer for Puligny villages-level juice with minerality, finesse, and restraint comparable to wines at a much higher level. Sourced from very old vines, it is a sensational bottle that can surprise you with cellar time. It is classically made by one of the old-guard white Burgundy producers. 2023 is another excellent, simply delicious example, making for a rich, complex, and expressive Bourgogne Blanc, which compliments the cool, classic, and airy style that predominates here. The 2023 Bourgogne Blanc shows a vibrant fruit character of ripe citrus and orchard fruits like pear and apple with excellent texture on the palate and some concentration brought on by slightly lower yields retaining excellent acidity and energy. This is always one of our favorites in the category and highly recommended!
