2017 Runchet Langhe Nebbiolo

$24.99
2017 Runchet Langhe Nebbiolo

We've had incredible client feedback on this fantastic Italian value and are down to the last bottles. The 2017 Runchet is like drinking a Barbaresco at a fraction of the price; it's that good. This is a not-to-miss old-world value not to be missed, and we have the only bottles in stock in the USA.

See our original offer below.
We were introduced to this small Piedmonte producer last year when we tasted their outstanding 2016 Barbaresco. Last week we tried their 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo, and all we can say is wow, what a great bottle! Sisters, Andrew and Beatrice, are a couple of young wine-makers that employ some of today's new technology but want to make classic expressions from the grapes they farm. Andrea learned her vinification and wine production knowledge from working at Produttori del Barbaresco, one of the top producers in the region. They own only five hectares of vines gifted to them by their father, Domenico, on their farm called Runchet. Andrea and Beatrice work the vineyards sustainably, employ natural yeast for fermentation, use low sulfur content in the wines, and open the winery doors to kick in malo-lactic fermentation.
Basically, everything is done in the old-world style as much as possible. The results are trying sensational, and this Nebbiolo drinks more like an excellent Barbaresco. The 2017 vintage has lovely upfront fruit and early accessibility. So the 2017's will provide excellent drinking now while you wait for your 2016 and 2016's to come around. The aromas here are a melange of dried rose petals, red fruits, underbrush, orange zest, and some minerality. The palate is ample, plush with excellent depth, persistence, and some round tannins buried in the fruit. This is of Barbaresco quality and delivers an extremely high pedigree for the price! We currently have the only bottles of this wine that were imported into the USA!
