2020 Domaine de Marquiliani Corse Le rosé de Pauline

$24.99
2020 Domaine de Marquiliani Corse Le rosé de Pauline
One of our favorite Roses, we were abler to source a few cases of this back vintage at special pricing. The Rose de Pauline is a beautiful wine and one of the best produced on the Island of Corsica. This is a unique and elegant Rose with excellent balance and complexity made with revitalized vineyards of lost varietals. With the bit of extra age, this is mesmerizing and shows that this can age a bit and still be quite fresh. It's rare to get back the vintages of Marquiliani, so don't miss this opportunity!

An annual Rose buy for us from the village of Aghione on the island of Corsica. Marquiliani produces some of the best Rose in the world. The 200-year-old winery was burned down and abandoned until the Amalric family revitalized the Domaine planting a few indigenous Italian varietals that are mainly grown on Corsica along with Syrah. All the vines used for these two cuvees are were planted in 1964 and are still in use today. The Pauline Rose is a blend of mostly Sciaccarellu (50%), another indigenous varietal, 40% Syrah, and 10% Vermentino. The Syrah for this Cuvee is from select parcels and undergoes a slow fermentation with a blocked malolactic fermentation giving adding a level of surprising complexity. This is delicate and profound, leaving one thinking in a state of enjoyment and with unrivaled complexity when it comes to Rose. It's one of our favorites at this price point, and over the past couple of years, it has become increasingly hard to acquire, making it all the more desirable. We received a small allocation this year, so please act quickly!
