Today, we have exceptional pricing on the last bottles of this excellent vintage champagne from Paul Bara. All Grand Cru, Bouzy fruit, Pinot Noir-driven, and with an elegance that has always been one of the best examples in the village. The Brut Milesime shows of the beautiful Pinot Noir of Bouzy accounting for 90% of the blend, with the remaining devoted to Chardonnay. Sourced from 35+ year-old vines, this is a crowd-pleaser yet still exciting for seasoned bubble lovers. It shows excellent balance, complexity, a profound fruit profile, and minerality. 2016 is an excellent rendition of this fantastic cuvee, and while the weather was incredibly challenging, with yields down due to frost, mildew, and excessive heat in the summer, Paul Bara had to pull out all the stops. While much of the fruit was lost what remained was of excellent quality and met the Bara standard as this cuvee is only made in vintages deemed worthy. 2016 is fresh and elegant with citrus, honey, dried flowers, and subtle spice on the nose. The vibrant palate features strawberry and white flowers with a delicate, light texture. This lovely bottle would pair well with some more decadent seafood and is a fantastic buy for the category at this very low pricing! Don't miss these last bottles!
