Decanter 96 pts!   Superb - this is among the most complex and round, if not necessarily the most easy to approach in its youth. A substantial wine that is somewhat closed initially, with time it opens to show its richness and weight, along with a full array of aromas from ripe pears to fresh flowers, beeswax and spice. The texture is broad, but well balanced by the crisp acidity. A lovely, masterful wine. (Drink between 2021 - 2029)

Neal Martin 93-95 pts! The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet, less expressive than the other cuvées, but a few swirls reveal intense mineral-driven malic fruit. Like the aromatics, the palate is beautifully defined and reminds me of Domaine Leflaive in style. The spiciness hits the back palate, hints of lemongrass linger in the mouth after this Les Combettes has departed. Classy but compact at the moment, so do not begrudge cellaring this for 3-5 years. (Drink between 2024 - 2045)

Burghound 93-95 pts! In contrast to the expressiveness of most of the prior wines, here the nose only grudgingly reveals its aromas of cool acacia blossom, rose petal, various white orchard fruit and whiff of orange peel. There is excellent volume and energy to the dense yet refined flavors that deliver exceptional persistence on the balanced finale that is focused and firm. As the finest examples of Combettes always are, the mouthfeel is delicate, yet the flavor authority is impressive. Classy juice. (Drink starting 2031)
