1992 Dominus Estate If someone buy 6 bottles give them the wood case.

$249.99
1992 Dominus Estate If someone buy 6 bottles give them the wood case.

The 1992 Dominus Estate is a beautiful example of old-school Napa Cabernet from one of the valley’s most historically important sites, and we have two 6-packs in OWC plus one bottle in perfect condition (pictured above). Christian Moueix first discovered Napanook in 1981 and immediately saw its potential. The vineyard has viticultural roots stretching back to the 19th century and became the foundation for Dominus, marrying Napa ripeness with the restraint and structure of Moueix’s Bordeaux background. The 1992 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 19% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, harvested during a warm, early season and aged with just 40% new oak to keep the fruit and vineyard character intact. Dominus describes the vintage as round, lush, and elegant, with a soft, fleshy texture. After more than three decades, the wine has developed into a wonderfully complex expression of mature Napa: cassis and dark cherry layered with violets, earth, dried herbs, tobacco, mocha, leather, and savory spice. Plenty of life remaining, but the tannins have softened beautifully, and the wine now shows the kind of secondary complexity that only comes with long bottle age. With only about 6,000 cases produced, this is a terrific opportunity to experience mature Dominus from an important early period in the estate’s history, when Christian Moueix was defining the classical, Bordeaux-influenced style that would go on to make Dominus one of Napa Valley’s benchmark wines.
