This new release Morgon from Lapierre, is going to be excellent in terms of quality. The 17s were great, but under winemaker Mathieu's scrutiny, he decided it was not good enough for all the individual cuvees. Thus everything was blended into the regular Morgon. That is not the case with the 18s, and all of Lapierre’s curves were produced, an indication that the quality was up to snuff. This is a great bottle of wine, and although it is not Lapierre's top tier, it is fresh and juicy with great depth and is everything it should be from a top producer like Lapierre.
