2020 Stéphane Ogier Côtes du Rhône Le temps est venu

$17.99
2020 Stéphane Ogier Côtes du Rhône Le temps est venu

This bottle from Ogier is our best Rhone deal of the year, and we have a few cases that just arrived in stock. With his new facility in full swing, Stephane continues to refine and get the most out of these vineyards. Even after six generations of family winemaking, Stephane is still focused on elevating the Ogier family name. Across the board, the wines from Ogier are remarkable, with each Cuvee expressing a unique terroir, even at the Cote du Rhone level. Le Temps est Venu is sourced from plots in Plan de Dieu and Visan and is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, between 30-50 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils. Harvest is done by hand with sorting in the vineyard and before pressing, which is done entirely with whole clusters. Fermentation occurs with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete, where the wine ages for ten months before bottling. The purity of fruit here is outstanding; fresh red fruits dominate the nose with a touch of spice and minerals, and the palate is so juicy and energetic, with delicious red fruits that come through with easy tannins and a long fruit finish. It's a delightful wine and a pretty serious bottle at this level, making it one of the best deals for Rhone we have ever offered!

Jeb Dunnuck 92 pts! "Moving to the reds, the 2020 Côtes Du Rhône Le Temps Est Venu has a round, seamless, incredibly pretty style as well as assorted red and black cherry fruits, notes of peppery spice and flowers, soft tannins, and a great finish. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah brought up in tank and concrete, it’s a delicious Côtes Du Rhône to enjoy over the coming 5-6 years or so. (Drink between 2022 - 2028)"
