2022 Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières

$159.99
2022 Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières

A fantastic Meursault buys from this great domaine, Latour Giraud continues to make some of the best buys for Meursault, and we have the current release of a fan favorite, Meursault Genevrieres, which is the best ever from this domaine. Latour Giraud is a classic Domaine with family roots going back to 1680 in Meursault, with a brief stint making Marc de Bourgogne at the Hospices of Mersault before moving to wine. Today, Jean-Pierre Latour heads this 10-hectare estate, which holds one of the most significant portions of Meursault Genevrieres, owning 2.5 hectares of the 16-hectare vineyard. 2022 is an exceptional vintage for this wine and a bit more classic than the 2020 we offered, but it is just as good, though not as showy out of the gate. It's a beautiful bottle of Genevrieres with massive potential and the ability to be one of the best here in time. A great note from Jasper Morris: this is the best buy of the vintage for Genevrieres, and we currently have a great price on these bottles that are in stock.

Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy) 93-95 points! "Some light green reflections in the primrose yellow colour. A stricter nose, perhaps a touch of sulphur. This may also appear more backward coming after the Charmes. Then a vast wealth of fruit on the palate and now we see the real wine. It maintains the herbal note I associate with Genevrières, alongside golden fruit at a perfect degree of ripeness. The fruit and the acidity weave in and out of each other. I would not want the fruit to be riper but it is full of charm as it stands, and kept in place by the precision of the structure. Very fine."
