Today, we have the new release of the Saint Aubin Blanc from one of the undisputed greats of White Burgundy, Pierre-Yves Colin Morey. A masterful winemaker with a touch for creating incredible Chardonnay, PYCM loves St. Aubin, and his work with some of these forgotten high-elevation parcels brought new light to the appellation. The vines for this cuvee are 50+ years old and are sourced from three very cold, high-altitude parcels located in the northernmost part of Saint Aubin. The vineyards are south-facing and very rocky with limestone and clay soils. It is the perfect canvas for The Pierre-Yves style, and 2022 is one of the best examples that he has made of the Saint-Aubin AC. We have low pricing on a limited amount in stock, and this is one that could be approached on the earlier side but still will do very well with a few years in the cellar. It's another incredibly made wine from PYCM and one of the few selections that can be had in this lower price range.
Vinous (Neil Martin) 90-92 points! "The 2022 Saint-Aubin Village blends four different lieux-dits in the appellation. This has a well-defined bouquet with orchard fruit, hints of orange blossom and white tea. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive concentration. Very good weight for a Saint-Aubin Village, and though not complex per se, it feels very persistent and fresh on the finish."
