Lilbert-Fils Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Cramant

$39.99
Lilbert-Fils Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Cramant
A tiny fifth generation Champagne house working a mere 3.5 hectares in the grand cru villages of Cramant, Oiry, and Chouilly. It is not common for a grower to have vines in multiple grand cru villages like Libert does, which sets them apart from other Cote des Blancs growers. Libert Fils only make Blanc de Blancs, and they only make three cuvees. There is no fluff or special marketing here with fancy labels; these are incredible straight to the point traditional Champagnes that punch way above their weight. This is not the Perle but another nonvintage Cuvee that features three consecutive vintages with the base being 2016 and is sourced from Cramant, Chouilly, and Oiry and spends three years aging on the lees. This is a bottle of precise and energetic champagne with expressive aromatics and a fresh and elegant palate. This Cuvee is textbook Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs, and a rare find here in the USA due to very small production and almost no exportation. A bottle that comes highly recommended from a producer that has impressed us time and time again.
