N.V. Sabine Godmé Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé

$49.99
N.V. Sabine Godmé Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé
Sabine Godmé’s Rosé was one of our best-selling grower Rosé Champagnes, and after waiting more than a year, we finally have a small amount available again! Few Rosé Champagnes can compete with this at the price—it has the depth, texture, and vineyard character of bottles that often cost considerably more, and it remains an easy recommendation. Sabine Godmé was one of the first growers we ever tasted with, and the domaine has deep roots in the Montagne de Reims, with vineyards centered around the Grand Cru villages of Verzy and Verzenay. Verzy tends to bring more tension and elegance, while Verzenay contributes additional power and structure, giving the wines a beautiful natural balance. Sabine and her husband, Jean-Marie Guillaume, farm roughly 11 hectares sustainably, with vines averaging around 30 years old, and a portion of the wines sees barrel fermentation to add texture and complexity. The Rosé is a 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Verzenay, Verzy and Beaumont-sur-Vesle, with roughly 40% reserve wine and a dosage around 7 g/L. It is expressive and beautifully vinous, with cranberry, blood orange, red berries, mineral, and earthy notes, a rich palate, fine bubbles, and a long, powerful finish. We have always thought of this as a bit like Volnay with bubbles—elegant and perfumed, but with real substance underneath. This was a fan favorite for good reason, and it is very rare now, so grab some while you can!
