The A.R. Lenbole "Mag 2014" was our best seller in this format in 2019, and we recently received a new shipment. We can't say enough about how great of a Champagne this is, especially in magnum, and what a tremendous value it is, when master of wine Jancis Robinson thinks its almost as good as 2008 Cristal, and 2008 Dom that is saying something. This is serious juice for the price, and this is a great time to reload or purchase!
Jancis Robinson 18 points! "100% Chardonnay from the grand cru of Chouilly. Base 2014. Reserve wines: 40% including a fraction of 2010 reserves aged in magnum under cork to 2014, hence ‘mag 14’. Three years on lees. Release 2018. 25% oak fermented. Dosage 5 g/l. A bit more densely textured than the Intense bottling. Very pretty and, again, rather lacy and transparent. Long and impressive. Ranked just behind 2008 Roederer Cristal, and Dom Periginon in a tasting Janics conducted!"
Wine Enthusiast 94 Editors' Choice "This is one of a pair of wines in which this producer ages a significant amount of reserve wine in bottle before blending. The result is a concentrated wine, superrich while never losing sight of the strong minerality that comes from top Chardonnay on the Côte des Blancs. Drink this bottling from 2019."
