These are some of the last bottles of the 2016 Aida we have in stock, but this is the last chance as we took the remaining stock from our supplier. The 2016 vintage of the Aida Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a lovely example and one of the best of all time here. Vineyard 29, founded by Chuck and Anne McMinn, has been producing wines since the 1990s. The winemaker for this vintage is Keith Emerson, known for his precision in crafting bold, structured wines. The 2016 growing season was considered ideal, with a long, even ripening period that led to concentrated fruit and balanced acidity. The wine is fermented using native yeasts and aged for approximately 20 months in new French oak, contributing to its robust structure and aging potential. This is 99% Cabernet Sauvignon with 1% Petit Verdot added, sourced entirely from the 3.5-acre Aida Vineyard located in St. Helena. This is a rich, powerful, and opulent Cab with fantastic intensity and concentration, but it also shows some rather fine elegance and structure. It is a very complex, very impressive bottle from Vineyard 29 and is a deal for the category, considering the price of their peers. This has only improved with age and is much more approachable than the current release. Our pricing is nearly half of the going rate, so don't miss these last bottles!
Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti Brown MW) 98 pts! "The deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Estate Vineyard comes strutting out of the glass like a total rock star, giving up flamboyant notes of warm cassis, blueberry compote and preserved plums with exciting sparks of kirsch, red roses, oolong tea, star anise and cigar box plus a touch of underbrush. Full-bodied, rich, bold and wonderfully decadent in the mouth, it fills the palate with black fruit preserves and red berry layers, supported by a firm, grainy line and finishing very long."
