Cava has had a bit of a mixed reputation with cheap examples, leaving many unimpressed. This is not one of those; it is an exquisitely crafted bottle of sparkling wine that is grower-Champagne-level and of high quality. We served this blind earlier this year in a flight of Sparkling wines that were two to three times the price, and it was one of the best of the lot. Pink with deep ruby hues, this wine is clean and bright, with fine and persistent bubbles. It has excellent aromatic intensity, with light, elegant floral undertones of rose petals and fine pastry aromas perfectly blended with hints of white fruits and ripe cherries. This is rarely seen outside of Spain and is a tremendous value that wouldn't be out of place in a lineup of grower Champagne like we did. It is an incredible find for the money and a must-try at this pricing, perfect for holiday celebrations!
