One of our favorite Albarino finds of the year; we are offering discounted pricing today only when you buy three or more! Founded by Alberto Nanclares, who started making wine in his garage in 1997, he was eventually acquainted with Silvia Prieto in 2009, who was doing wine analysis for local wineries and would come to join Alberto many years later in 2015. Both have a passion for organic, traditionally made wines from incredibly healthy fruit, and the idea here is to have the best fruit enter the winery with minimal intervention, letting the full expression of the vineyards, grapes, and vintage shine through. The duo is based in Galacia, which is one of our favorites for white wines, and this is another stunning wine. Tempus Vivendi is Albariño from a number of plots in and around Sanxenxo close to the ocean. The vines are 25-45 years old, and the plots are largely south and west-facing and planted on sandy granite and clay. The grapes are harvested by hand, sorted, and gently pressed without destemming in whole bunches using a pneumatic press. The juice ferments with its native yeasts in stainless steel tank, then rests on the lees for seven months in the same vessel, with weekly batonnage for the first month. An ultra-fresh and mineral-driven example of Albarino, while the O Boco Vello de Silvia was more about the weight and density Albarino can have, this plays more to the energetic and fresh side of the grape. It's another magnificent look at the diversity of Albarino and how these different sites express themselves through the grape. This is one of the best buys for Albarino, and we have low pricing today on this fantastic effort from this incredibly capable winemaking. Don't miss this deal!
Wine Advocate (Luis Gutierrez) 92+ points! "The 2022 Tempus Vivendi is quite fresh. It feels fresher than the majority of 2022 whites, keeping a moderate 12.5% alcohol and very good freshness and acidity and the sea influence of the coastal vineyards that give it intense saline sensations."
