It's not every day that we find ex-cellar Red Burgundy with this much age at reasonable pricing, so this is a special offer for us. 1985 is one of the legendary Burgundy vintages, and we have been fortunate to try many wines from '85 with much success. However, the prices for top bottles, especially grand crus, are rather outrageous these days, with most over $1,000 asking price, making this bottle even more appealing. An adequately aged Burgundy is one of the wonders of the wine world. Unfortunately, because of the reasons above and limited availability, it's rather difficult for many to enjoy these wines, which is why we are very excited to offer this 1985 Corton from Louis Latour. Sourced from several plots facing southeast on the hill of Corton that are 100% Domaine owned, Louis Latour has been cultivating these plots since the 40s. The vines have consistently been kept around 50 years old on average over the years, which can be more complementary to a wine than having only old vines. This is a rare wine, and these are all ex-cellar bottles that are in excellent condition. There are also a few recent cellar tracker notes with a community score of 92.7. At the moment, we have the only bottles in the USA that aren't on auction coming highly recommended for those that love or have been looking for Red Burgundy with age, and for an ex-cellar Grand Cru, this is a great buy.
