Matrot saw its first production in 1835, officially becoming Domaine Matrot after 1914 when Joseph Matrot moved to his wife Marguerite Amoignon's Meursault-based estate. The Domaine became famous in the 70s when the respected Theirry Matrot came on board and was joined by his wife, Pascale. While they are still involved at the Domaine, the Matrot Daughters, Adèle and Elsa, have stepped up, continuing the legacy of this family estate, and the wines are better than ever. Matrot has always been a Domaine of purity and terroir expression, limiting yields and harvesting only healthy ripe grapes with organic growing practiced since the 70s.
The Bourgogne Blanc is sourced from Meursault, but with the addition of fruit from the Haut Cote de Nuits and some Chablis, contributing to its light and airy feel with excellent expression and substance.
