Here is the new release of the Grande Cellier d'Or! Vilmart is one of the top houses for grower Champagne and one of the few that makes a vintage Champagne every year. Much effort goes into the Grand Cellier d'Or, which comes from 50-year-old vines from sustainably farmed premier cru sites in Champagne's prestigious Rilly-la-Montagne area. A blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir, this sees vinification in oak barrels and aged for 42 months on the lees. 2015 is a more generous vintage but is still a very precise and detailed wine from the house style, as William Kelly comments below. Vilmart is one of the few houses with the confidence and ability to make great Champagne every year, and the 2015 Grand Cellier d'Or is no different.

"Disgorged in June 2019 with seven grams per liter dosage, the 2015 Brut Premier Cru Grand Cellier d'Or reveals inviting aromas of golden orchard fruit, pear, freshly baked bread and citrus zest. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with racy acids, chalky extract and a long, penetrating finish, the vintage has imparted additional generosity, but the house's chiseled, serious style remains very much intact."
