Gosset is the oldest Champagne house, and we have a staple today, the Grande Reserve. It's been a surprising amount of time since we have offered the Grand Reserve, but this bottle is one of the cornerstones of Gosset and is consistently an excellent buy. Grand Reserve Captures the essence of this great house, fresh and energetic, with an excellent presence of fruit, creaminess, and underlying minerality. Gosset's Champagnes do not go through malo-lactic fermentation and are the ultimate examples of purity, focus, and persistence while sometimes being subtle. A blend of 45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier from the villages of Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Villers-Marmery spending a minimum of 3 years aging on the lees. The Grande Reserve is a lovely Champagne and is a great bottle for the holidays. We have an allocation arriving early next week.
Decanter 93 points! "The oldest Champagne house is a favourite among wine trade insiders. This non-vintage cuvée boasts mellow red apple fruit aromas. It has beautifully subtle autolysis on the palate, with creamy apple and plum, and great precision. (Mar 2022)"
Falstaff 93 points! "Subtle notes of fresh almond pastry hover above the lemony nose that signals much freshness. The palate is bright and vivacious. Despite being exquisitely slender, and possessing the house’s signature steeliness, there is much depth and resonance to be found in the subtle autolysis and the gentle stone fruit hints that play on the mid palate and the long finish. A most elegant aperitif style. (9/30/22)"
