We have a few cases of the Terroirs Blanc de Blancs from Agrapart, one of the top growers of our time. It’s challenging to find these wines at reasonable prices, but we get did well here with our limited allocation of one of the top cuvées from fourth-generation winegrower Pascal Agrapart. Grower Champagne has always emphasized farming, and while that remains essential, few take their cellar practices as seriously as Pascal. A master of both vineyard and winery, his work with old-vine, organically farmed grapes across 12 hectares of Grand Cru sites in Avize, Oger, Cramant, and Oiry sets him apart. The Terroirs Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is a non-vintage bottling based on two consecutive harvests and is a blend of têtes de cuvées from terroirs in Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry. Naturally, this is fermented with native yeasts in neutral oak, aged 6 months on lees, and finished with a low dosage (5 g/L). Terroirs highlights the chalky soils with precision and structure with lots of saline and minerals, green apple, lemon peel, and a long, focused finish. It is always a beautiful example of Blanc de Blancs and is always one of the favorites from the grower Champagne crew.
Antonio Galloni 93 points! "The NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Terroirs Grand Cru is another terrific wine in this range. This release is a blend of 30% 2020, 50% 2019 and 20% 2018, unusual in that the youngest vintage is not the principal vintage in the blend. That's a choice that paid off beautifully in terms of shaping the wine's balance. Pretty floral and citrus notes extend the finish. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2024. "
